Rickmansworth – Breathing New Life into a Family Home
Our very first project! We were determined to set the bar high on the refurbishment of this neglected terraced property close to the plentiful amenities on offer in Rickmansworth Town Centre.
The property was in dire need of some TLC, but prior to starting work, we secured planning permission for a rear extension with built-in roof lanterns in order to create an expansive and bright living space.
We then undertook a comprehensive refurbishment of the building – we think the pictures speak for themselves. The property was sold whilst still under construction to a young family who fell in love with our end-vision, before even coming to the market.
St Albans – A New, Super-Cool Space for Young Professionals
St Albans is a vibrant market town with plenty to offer including excellent connections to central London, so our vision on this project was to create a cosy co-living space aimed at young professionals.
The property was acquired at auction and we obtained planning permission to use it as a large HMO, together with a single storey rear extension and the introduction of a large rear dormer. This allowed the creation of seven bedrooms, all equipped with ensuite facilities and work stations, whilst offering an expansive communal lounge and kitchen area for our young residents to socialise in.
We were committed to making life as comfortable as possible for our residents so all the rooms are served by ultra-fast broadband and benefit from subscriptions to Netflix, Amazon, a laundry service and regular household cleaning. Happy residents make a happy house and that is our ethos at Snug Haus!
Watford – From Derelict Garage to a Brand New Starter Home
We used to walk by this run-down garage commenting on how it had the potential to accommodate a new sensitively designed home. As our experience and confidence in developing grew, we took the plunge and approached the owner.
Fast forward ten months and planning permission was granted for our first new-build Snug Haus! We especially love this project because being a new-build, it allows us to put our stamp on it very early on during the design stage, implementing solutions for those niggling problems that homeowners face.
This Snug Haus will therefore incorporate plenty of built-in storage space, a dedicated work from home area, roof mounted solar panels to keep energy costs down, low maintenance gardens and smart thermostats. Construction is now under way.
The mould has already been set for our next new-build project, but at Snug Haus our designs continue to evolve with the comfort of our residents always firmly at the fore of our thought process.
